We are excited to announce that Janet Shelton LMT, of Back in Business Massage, will join Monmouth Fitness Club and offer her massage services beginning September 1, 2011. Many of our members are her clients already, and they all rave about her amazing work.

Janet will make you feel safe and comfortable so you can get the most benefit from your massage. She’s worked with men and women of all ages and body types and will customize every treatment to your individual needs. If you’ve had massage before, you will be impressed and if you’ve never tried massage, you’ll be amazed!  Look for her to set up shop in our specially designed and quiet massage space, complete with a private restroom.

Run or walk the crowd lined parade route just prior to the Monmouth-Independnce 4th of July Grand Parade! We’re putting a team together to run the annual Mini-Marathon (2.6 miles from Monmouth to Independence) on Monday July 4th. You’ll receive a Monmouth Fitness Club T-shirt to run in for race day and we’ll offer our own prizes to the fastest male and females in various age groups. Show your MFC pride and sign up at the front desk!

Start time: Approximately 11:45am at the front door of Monmouth City Hall, elevation 215 feet, 151 E. Main St.

Course Description: 2.62 miles, mostly downhill. Water available at the 1.4 mile mark and at the start/finish areas.

Finish: Front door of the former Independence City Hall, elevation 168 feet, 240 Monmouth St.  

Early Entry Fee: $5.00
Day of Race Entry fee: $10.00

 

Our beginner program will help aspiring new runners get out of the club and onto the road, running 2.6 miles straight in just 2 months. if you can already walk 25 minutes at a brisk pace and devote  just 40 minutes, 3x a week to a run/walk program YOU WILL BE READY to run the Monmouth-Independence July 4th Mini-Marathon!

$30 fee, ($50 for non-members) includes a written training program you can follow, one group training run/walk per week with a Monmouth Fitness Club running coach, and an MFC T-shirt for race day. Sign up at the front desk, program began on Monday May 9th but it’s not too late to join in!

We’re offering our signature circuit style class “CAMP” on Sundays at 11am until June 26th. Join our trainer Christie for a full body workout that incorporates cardio and weights into a fun hour long format!

We are offering an MFC 90X Contest for spring! And yes, under the idea of consistently committing to exercise for 90 days to see big results. We don’t think that anything P90X does in your home is more effective than what we offer in our club. Honestly, it’s the consistency of doing exercise 90 times in 90 days and watching what you eat that produces big results!

Starting Friday April 1st and running through June 29th, we are challenging you to workout in our club,  90 times in 90 days. This will produce amazing results for anyone interested in participating. If you need help and can’t do it alone, we are offering a Group Personal Training package of 2 sessions per week (that’s 25 sessions) for just $375 to get you started (groups of 3-6 people).

This is a big challenge, it is FREE, and we are offering prizes that include gift certificates, massages, movie tickets, and more! If you are interested in participating, simply register for the program starting March 15th, make sure you sign in at the front desk (with your MFC swipe card) for every workout, personal training session or class you attend beginning April 1st and ending June 29th. To make things easier, we’re even adding a Sunday late AM group fitness class for the 90 day period. Our trainer Christie Carlson will be teaching a fun circuit “CAMP” class at 11am each week. The bottom line: If you can make 90 workouts in that 90 consecutive days, you WILL win a prize.

Due to overwhelming demand, Emily O’Malley will be offering her ZUMBA master class on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month! A $5 nominal fee reserves your space in this rockin’ 90 minute party. Space limited to 25 people.

Our 10 week weight loss challenge begins this Saturday, January 15th and runs until March 26th. If you can lose the greatest % of your body weight over the 70 day challenge, you will win $300 in cash. We are offering a prize for the Biggest Loser Male and Female as well as other prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. Right now, you have two options to enter the contest. A $10 entry fee allows you to compete on your own, attend our 5 class seminar series and receive 20% off our already low personal training prices. However we know a lot of you struggle to go it alone, so for just $299 (we’ll waive the $10 entry fee) you can compete in the contest with TWO one hour personal training sessions per week. That’s 20 sessions for just $15 an hour! What have you got to lose?

All seminars will be held in the group fitness studio at 7:30pm. There will be lecture, some activity, and time for questions and answers with the Personal Trainers.
